What Went Well
-
We ended up with a very strong team culture, and became really effective at communicating with each other.
-
I got early experience with working with another artist, as we were the only two artist team for this project.
-
I made my first game!
What Went Wrong
-
We had a lot of crunch time in order to get everything done.
-
We had to implement a scoring system late in development, which cut into time for polish and fixing bugs.
-
The original enemy sprites did not fit the artistic direction of the game, so we had to reskin and reanimate all of them in about two days.
What I Learned
-
Always make an effort to talk to your team.
-
Don't be afraid to ask for clarification on game specifications.
-
Don't bite off more than you can chew.
