What Went Well

  • We ended up with a very strong team culture, and became really effective at communicating with each other.

  • I got early experience with working with another artist, as we were the only two artist team for this project.

  • I made my first game!

What Went Wrong

  • We had a lot of crunch time in order to get everything done.

  • We had to implement a scoring system late in development, which cut into time for polish and fixing bugs.

  • The original enemy sprites did not fit the artistic direction of the game, so we had to reskin and reanimate all of them in about two days.

What I Learned

  • Always make an effort to talk to your team.

  • Don't be afraid to ask for clarification on game specifications.

  • Don't bite off more than you can chew.
